Roots and Revelations
Linoprint on 9x12 paper Hand-printed, black ink This linoprint honors the complex spiritual and cultural landscape of Mexican identity, centering on Our Lady of Guadalupe. Through carefully crafted symbolic elements—sacred roses, peaceful doves, the piercing Sacred Heart, and ancient Aztec motifs of sun, moon, and transformative skulls—the artwork weaves a visual narrative of faith, resilience, and remembrance. Drawing from the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos and indigenous Mexican symbolism, the piece explores themes of spiritual continuity, cultural memory, and the profound interconnectedness of life, death, and devotion.
This was my first linoprint and was made for our alter for Day of The Dead! Had a lot of fun doing this!
